Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Fairmont Gold Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:     
  • Reviewing daily reservations and ensuring all guest requests are completed
  • Providing accurate information to guests including attractions, activities, dining, special events and available services
  • Recording and efficiently managing/resolving guests’ complaints
  • Assisting with the management of room inventory including special projects and preventative maintenance (reporting malfunctions)
  • Assisting with promoting the operations’ products and services
  • Assisting with Budget preparation/ management and associated labour costs and operations’ expenses
  • Supervising, training, mentoring and developing colleagues; assisting with recruitment and performance reviews
  • Preparing team schedules, recording time and attendance
  • Developing and enhancing effective relationships and communications with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assisting with inventory and preparing required orders
  • Participating in and leading various meetings including team communication meetings
  • Assuming additional responsibilities in the absence of the Fairmont Gold Manager
  • Other related duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
  • 2 years experience in Front Office, 1 of which in a supervisory role required
  • Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management an asset
  • Ability to converse in a second language an asset
  • Basic first aid certification or willing to complete
  • Proven superior supervisory, leadership and training skills
  • Proven knowledge of budget preparation and management
  • Excellent customer service, training, communication (verbal and written, fluent in English), interpersonal, organization, prioritization, multi tasking and problem solving skills; must be detail oriented 
  • Knowledge of Micros-Fidelio Property Management System an asset
  • Proficient with MS Office suite applications required
 
Visa Requirements: Non-Bermudian candidates will need to qualify for a Bermuda Department of Immigration work permit applied for by the Fairmont Southampton Hotel.
