Associate Professor, Choral Conducting/Piano
Job SummaryThe Music Department is seeking candidates with the ability to direct the University Concert Choir and other ensembles; teach choral conducting and choral leadership; beginning, intermediate, and advanced piano; and chamber music.
Candidates will be expected to engage in research, scholarly and creative activities and participate in curriculum review and development. The ideal candidate will have current knowledge of instructional methods and new technologies pertinent to areas of assignment; the capacity to learn and apply emerging technologies and advances (e.g., computer software applications); be able to instruct and assist in the growth and success of a diverse population of students through careful preparation of course materials, effective teaching methodologies and informed critical feedback on assignments and discussions.
Applicants must possess an earned doctorate in Choral Conducting from an accredited institution and at least a master’s degree in piano performance or collaborative piano; excellent tertiary-level teaching experience, and evidence of scholarly research and creative works as well as publications.
