Job Description

Qualification and Experience

Medically qualified graduate with MPH and DrPH or PhD (Public Health) or other equivalent with specialization in the following areas:

  • Maternal and Child Health
  • Chronic Non-Communicable Disease
  • Health Promotion
  • Monitoring and Evaluation

Considerable experience, post-Doctoral Degree in the Public Health field

Experience in developing undergraduate/postgraduate programmes in Public Health would be an asset

 

Special Responsibilities

  • Teaching in the area of Public Health to medical students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Liaising with other stakeholders in civil society including industry and NGOs to design Public Health Practical and Research Projects
  • Assessing and reassessing MPH syllabi for continuous quality improvement
  • Interacting with full-time and part-time staff for delivery of MPH teaching modules
  • Organizing and conducting module examinations
  • Organizing and conducting examiners meetings for all modules
  • Continuously evaluating Lecturers and Courses and their relevance to MPH programme
  • Working as part of the team of the Unit of Public Health and Primary Care contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in the Department of Paraclinical Sciences

The Department of Paraclinical Sciences places high priority on individuals who can work well in a team environment. Candidates should possess good communication and interpersonal skills. A good command of both oral and written English is essential. Candidates must also have:

  • A proven research and publications track record
  • Familiarity with Problem-Based Learning (PBL)
  • The ability to work in an evening environment
