Job Description

Minimum Qualification/ Experience

A PhD in Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering, Membership of an internationally recognized professional body or engineering institution.

 

Considerable related academic and professional experience, including: 

  • Substantial experience in teaching and research at the tertiary level as a distinguished Civil Engineer
  • A track record of distinguished, original and innovative work; high quality publications in peer-reviewed international journals
  • Outstanding success in and wide recognition of professional activities
  • Corporate membership in a reputable professional institution
  • Active engagement in industry
  • Proven success in grant applications

 

 Special Expertise/Area of Concentration

  • Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation, Infrastructure and Water Resources Engineering

 

Special Responsibilities

  • Will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate engineering courses specific to there specialty area
  • To participate in service related activities
  • To develop an externally funded research program in the applicable engineering field of expertise
  • To advise graduate and undergraduate students
  • To publish research results in professional journals
