The v Project Coordinator coordinates the work with project teams engaged in the establishment and implementation of UTT Capital Projects

Job Description

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

General

  • Provides professional support on such technical issues as statutory requirements, quality standards, engineering design, construction, remodelling, maintenance planning and supervision, building repairs, construction safety, etc.
  • Prepares tender documents, manages the process, prepares tender evaluations
  • Prepares technical specifications for equipment, building and facilities required by UTT
  • Oversees the supervision of staff and external contractors involved in UTT projects
  • Establishes and maintains alliances with external parties including suppliers, contractors, consultants, project managers
  • Prepares status reports as required for various projects
  • Undertakes special assignments and performs other related duties as necessary

 

Specific to UTT Signature Building, Tamana

  • Manages and oversees the day-to-day construction management and schedules of the project;
  • Provides daily safety briefings and ongoing checks on construction safety;
  • Monitors and reports to Project Manager/ Senior Engineer project details including progress, risks, opportunities in a timely manner;
  • Ensures all changes to specifications, scope and drawings are documented;
  • Coordinates with project team and contractor for timely inspections and testing of systems;
  • Coordinates with project team for review of receipt of hand-over documents including; test reports; warranties, guarantees, etc;
  • Cordinates with project team for close out of all Final Approvals with Statutory agencies;
  • Monitors construction productivity and schedule performance;
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA and UTT safety standards.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • First Degree in Civil, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline;
  • Ten (10) years relevant work experience, including Construction Management, Project Management or related field;
  • Five (5) years at a supervisory level.

  • Excellent Project Management and Supervisory Skills;
  • Practical knowledge of building codes and standards;
  • Extensive  knowledge and expertise in building and plant construction;
  • Knowledge and experience in construction safety regulations and practices;
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with teams;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills;
  • Knowledge of financial management and budgeting;
  • Computer literate and proficient in the preparation of technical reports;
