Job Description

JOB PURPOSE

To manage the activities of the Analysts and ensures the analysis of data/information are provided for the development of strategies to enhance the region’s security.

 

The duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compiles and evaluates data/information through analytical and comparative processes
  • Provides supervision for Analysts in the compilation of information and findings and the production of briefs, summaries and the distribution of strategic reports
  • Prepares graphs, charts, tables and other illustrative devises for visual presentation of data
  • Initiates and compiles strategic briefings and other initiatives
  • Liaises with relevant government & local agencies on matters pertaining to the specific desk/unit to obtain information/data pertinent to matters being examined
  • Communicates with the Chief Analyst on all development
  • Assist with the development of Work Plans for the Analysts and conducts performance evaluations
  • Ensures proper records are maintained to support decisions
  • Reviews and interprets laws, rulings, regulations relevant to the Unit’s portfolio
  • Provides legal advice for the Unit

  • Legal Training skills
  • Excellent analytical and judgment skills
  • Must be flexible and highly responsive to changes, to cope with the needs of the desk
  • Must display a high level of motivation and discipline
  • Must possess the ability to remain focused
  • Must be dedicated to given tasks ensure agreed outputs are achieved
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Good Networking skills

 

SPECIALIZED TRAINING

  • Legal codes, precedents, government regulations framework
  • Excellent working knowledge of research software
  • Extensive training in Analysis

 

SPECIAL CONDITION ASSOCIATED WITH THE JOB

  • Irregular and unscheduled working hours
  • May be required to work out of office from time to time
  • High security working environment
  • Must be security vetted to include annual polygraph testing
  • Must be a signatory of the Official Secrets Act
  • Continuously works with computer or other keyboard devices
  • May be required to work in overseas posting for specific periods

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Law
  • At least six (6) years in Intelligence/Law Enforcement operations
