Job Summary

To support the management of the Ministry’s properties and the implementation of its Land Administration and Management Plan through efficient administering of property acquisitions, sale and lease.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Guides the administration of Ministry property sales, leases and acquisitions;
  • Participates in the establishment and implementation of the Ministry’s Land Information System and Geographic Information System;
  • Participates in the preparation of periodic Unit reports;
  • Conducts investigations and submits recommendations on request for lease and purchase of Ministry properties; 
  • Directs inspection of lands offered for sale in the Ministry;
  • Conducts investigations to determine suitability of property and legitimacy of ownership;
  • Prepares and submits reports (with recommendations) on properties inspected and investigated;
  • Works with the Ministry in efforts to safeguard its interests through elimination and regularization of unauthorized settlements (squatting);
  • Conducts requisite investigations on unauthorized settlements, and prepares and submits reports;
  • Participates in the preparation of land related Cabinet Submissions;
  • Liaises with the Legal Services Division of the Ministry in the preparation of Agreements, Transfers and Certificates of Title.

Minimum Required Education and Experience: 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Estate Management or Land Economy and Valuation
  • Three (3) years working experience with government Estate Management Agency, Valuation or Real Estate Company
