The Government of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana has received financing from the Inter- American Development Bank ( IDB) and the Caribbean Investment Facility ( CIF) of the European Union ( EU) and it intends to apply part of the proceed towards short term consultancy services.
The objectives of this work assignment are to assist the Social Management Unit (SMU) to:
- Conducts data analyses, and reports results associated with a research study, using SPSS and other statistical analysis software.
- Summarizes statistical results of survey exercise/ dataset by creating graphs, tables and charts and interprets and conveys results to SMU.
- Advises on the most appropriate statistical techniques, procedures
The intended outcome is to have an effectively and efficiently implemented social management program in the targeted areas. Survey personnel will be responsible for the analysis of data emanating out of a baseline survey in the 85 Priority Areas identified by the PUUP. This position gathers, organizes and statistically analyse research data. The position determines data requirements; designs data collection tools, constructs and manages databases, conducts statistical analysis of data, and reports results.
The Statistical Analyst will provide oral, electronic and written briefings/ report to the Social Management Unit (SMU), attend meeting(s),
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a field directly related to the research or data analysis responsibilities and a minimum of one year of research experience; or a Master’s degree in one of the same fields.

The Survey is to be executed in Guyana across: Region 3 – West Bank Demerara, Region 4 - East Bank Demerara, Region 4- Georgetown, Region 4 – East Coast Demerara, Region 5 West Berbice, Region 6 - Upper East Corentyne, Berbice and Region 6 – New Amsterdam, Berbice, however the Personnel will be working from at a centralised location determined by personnel.
Consultants will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out by the IDB: policies for the selection and contracting of Consultants financed by the Inter- American Development Bank GN-2350- . Individuals from the Bank Member countries will be eligible as well as individuals recognized as eligible by the EU under its applicable regulations on procurement.
