The global recession has altered workers’ view of the market. Employees are transitioning to new fields and are more open to relocation, as businesses evolve with the times. These changes however make job searching more challenging at times. One example of this is finding the right job with hours that allow a reasonable balance of work time and personal life.
Some workers find themselves working in areas they would not have opted for, initially, but, as companies change hands or venture into other industries, staff that are kept on change roles. For some, this is viewed as job opportunity. For others, adjusting includes performing more duties without an increase in compensation. Working hours can either be shortened or lengthened.
As technology reduces operational costs in the long run, less humans are required to perform specific tasks. However, in companies keen on the use of technology, recruitment focuses on people skilled and trained in information technology.
