The Assistant Executive Housekeeper is responsible for assisting the Executive Housekeeper in the monitoring of cleanliness and efficient operation of the Housekeeping Department.


  • Oversees either Guest Stateroom Side or Guest Public Areas and Crew quarters/crew spaces.
  • Responsible for scheduling Housekeeping staff as well as collecting, crosschecking and submitting of timesheets.
  • Responsible for the issuance and monitoring of the Stateroom Stewards Micros cards, Safety cards, and for the Stewards signing on and off of the vessel.
  • Prepares daily/weekly performance reports and other reports as required.
  • Conducts daily inspections of all housekeeping related areas to ensure standards are maintained.
  • Ensures vessel has the proper amount of cleaning equipment and in responsible for reporting equipment for repair.
  • Ensures that periodic inventories of supplies and monthly linen inventories are conducted.
  • Assists the Executive Housekeeper in monitoring the luggage handling process during collection and delivery of luggage from/to guest staterooms.
  • Properly reports maintenance deficiencies that require immediate attention and follows-up on their status. Escalates issues as necessary.
  • Using Platinum Inspections/Impressions, conducts daily inspections of guest staterooms, surrounding areas, including vacant, made-up and turned-down rooms, to ensure the standard of cleanliness is maintained at all times.
  • Supervises the proper care and use of equipment, trolleys, and cleaning products.
  • Assists the Executive Housekeeper in monitoring the fast and smooth luggage handling process during collection and delivery of luggage from/to guest staterooms.
  • Offers all possible assistance to guests; takes corrective action on suggestions/ complaints and strives for early guest recovery.
  • Maintains a logbook to record stateroom status, reports maintenance deficiencies and significant events that require immediate attention and follows-up on their status, then completes daily reports as needed.
  • Maintains the standards and guidelines recommended by, USPH, SEMS, Waypoint, and NCL Hotel Operations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Must be familiar with the Safety and Environmental Protection Policy and the SEMS, and carry out the policies and procedures appropriate for his/her position.



  • Intermediate to Advanced level English verbal and writing skills, including the proper use of English grammar is required.
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in typing and computer software skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Fidelio, Micros, PeopleSoft) is required.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in Hotel establishment positions is required; or two years’ experience in related hotel positions on board ships is required.
  • Six months experience in budgeting, financial forecasting, or reporting is required.



  • Two-year Associate’s degree or equivalent in Hotel Management from a recognized hotel institution is required
