Job Summary

This position reports to the Group Head of Operational Risk and will be responsible for managing the Group’s operational risk programme for the jurisdiction.

Job Description

Your responsibilities will include:

  • overseeing the implementation and operation of the Group’s Operational Risk Management (ORM) and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) programme, which includes performing risk and control assessments, reviewing project initiation documents, providing guidance and ensuring 
  • compliance with the Group Operational Risk Policy and orchestrating the appropriate use of a risk acceptance process 
  • overseeing documentation of the Bank’s procedures, ensuring that procedures documentation meets with Group policy and standards, liaising with external consultants and quality assure procedures documentation 
  • managing and overseeing the Bank’s incident management reporting system, including, maintaining the Bank’s Loss Event Risk Register; reporting incident management reports to jurisdictional senior management, analysing and summarising trends in incident management reporting and providing advice and assistance to Product Sponsors and Product Owners 
  • preparing reports on operational risk matters for the local Board of Directors, Executive Management and management committees and acting as Secretary of the Bank’s Risk Committee 


Your experience/skills may include:

  • a university degree with five years’ banking experience, at least two of which are in the field of operational risk management 
  • comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of the operational risk management and related regulations (e.g. Basel II, Sarbanes Oxley Act) 
  • excellent organisation, oral and written communication skills 
  • strong analytical skills with knowledge and understanding of internal controls 
  • well-developed inter-personal skills, with the ability to develop working relationships 
  • proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications
