Job Summary

The incumbent is responsible for examination of transactions at all level including project contracts and investment, and determine compliance with the provision of relevant laws, regulations, policies and rules on internal controls.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  • Conducts reviews of assigned organization;
  • Verifies organizational records;
  • Examines and appraises financial and accounting practices, systems and procedures;
  • Conducts exit interviews;
  • Clears any queries on the working paper prepared;
  • Assists in the preparation of preliminary recommendations and drafting of reports;
  • Performs any other related duties assigned.

  • Confidentiality and integrity are exercised in the performance of duties;
  • Reviews are conducted in accordance with the instructions given by the Audit Supervisor and prescribed audit programme;
  • Working papers and reports are accurate, clear and concise and prepared in accordance with established guidelines;
  • Recommendations/Advice are sound and are in accordance with established guidelines;
  • Findings are accurate and supported with audit evidence
  • Internal controls are functional
  • Staff is competent and productive

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

(a) Specific knowledge (however acquired) required to start:

  • Knowledge of the organisation’s mandate and objectives
  • Sound knowledge of the FAA Act
  • Sound knowledge of Staff Order and Public Service Regulations
  • Sound knowledge of Government’s Accounting policies and procedures

 

(b) Qualifications and Experience

  • ACCA Level 1
  • A.Sc. Accounting with the completion of the Government Accounting and Internal Audit Courses at MIND
  • B.Sc. in Accounting /Management Studies
  • 2 years or more practical experience in accounting or related field

 

(c) Continuous Professional Development

  • Attend relevant training on emerging trends and practices within the field.
  • Network within the profession and relevant associations to keep abreast with the industry.
