Key responsibilities include:

  • Has clinical oversight of the Emergency Department and Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre in conjunction with the Deputy Chief of Emergency Services
  • Responsible for providing managerial oversight of physicians employed in the KEMH Emergency Department and Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre
  • Directly Responsible for supervision and operation of the Hyperbaric & Wound Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital (KEMH)
  • Represents Emergency Services (KEMH Emergency Department and Fast Track Service, Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre, Hyperbaric & Wound Care Unit,) at the Medical Staff, Critical Care, Quality Council, Risk Management, and Utilization Review Committees. Co-chairs the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Committee
  • Researches new developments in ambulatory care, emergency care, hyperbaric & wound care, as well as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and proposes them to senior administration, medical staff, and nursing services
  • Periodically reviews, updates, and revises Policies and Procedures developed in conjunction with the Director of Critical Care, Deputy Chief of Emergency Services, Clinical Manager of the Emergency Department and Clinical Manager of Hyperbarics & Wound Care Unit as well as the Hyperbaric Safety Officer
  • Must remain at KEMH during Hurricanes (as well as other Mass Casualty events, or disaster simulation exercises) to supervise the provision of Emergency services and participate in hospital incident command as required
  • Formally replies to complaints pertaining to care delivered in the Emergency Department,       Lamb Foggo Urgent Care Centre, and Hyperbaric & Wound Care Unit


Qualifications & Registration required:

  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine or equivalent
  •  Board Certification in Hyperbaric and Undersea Medicine
  •  At least 10 years practice experience in Emergency Medicine
  •  5-10 years management experience in Emergency Medicine
  • Current registration with Medical Council in relevant jurisdiction
  • Eligible / Registered with Bermuda Medical Council
