Construction Manager responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and directing construction projects from conception to completion
  • Reviewing the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs
  • Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations

 

Job brief

We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. for (or assisting with) all Project Management duties for the project(s) to which you are attached with may include:

These include but are not limited to:

  • Development of the construction management plans and implementation of project management plans.
  • The day-to-day organization of all works on site
  • Assisting with ordering or overseeing the ordering of all overseas and local materials for site in a timely manner to adhere to the project schedule and deadlines
  • Assisting in Scheduling the project and adhering to the project schedule
  • Preparing and issuing weekly reports for each site in your charge
  • Logging all variations, architect’s instruction and maintaining a proper paper trail.
  • Assisting with writing all CVI’s and RFI’s for the project(s)
  • Checking & approving all job work sheets, pay sheets and subcontractor payments.
  • Assisting in ensuring value of works carried out is in line with the priced BOQ
  • Ensuring the quality of the work performed is to the standards approved by the company.
  • Planning the setting out and allocation of day work for the workmen and subcontractors on your sites with the construction or site managers assigned to each site/(s)

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years working experience in Construction Project Management or similar.
  • BS degree in construction management, engineering or related field
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages
  • Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
