Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill vacant position of Coordinator of The Occupational Environmental Safety and Health (OSESH) Programme.


Qualifications and Experience 

The successful candidate must possess a Master’s Degree in an administrative or appropriate scientific or OESH discipline, with a record of considerable experience in successful strategic planning and meeting of organizational goals, and effectively working with stakeholders in industry and government.

Further evidence of entrepreneurial experience and effectively working in collaborative or leadership roles in a university setting with Administrative and Academic Leadership and graduate students would be assets.


Special Responsibilities

Academic-Related Responsibilities

  • Research, Delivery and Examination Resources Management
  • Ensuring Graduate School regulatory compliance of registered students
  • Managing academic program review and course approvals
  • International Occupational Safety and Health Standards Agency interactions
  • Securing agreements with stakeholders for Industry Research Projects
  • Local Occupational Safety and Health Authority and Agency interactions
  • Reporting to Faculty Board through the Deputy Dean of Graduate Studies
  • Advancing appointments of Teaching Staff by Campus Committee


Planning Responsibilities

  • Ensuring academic excellence
  • Managing quality assurance and accountability measures
  • Enhancing growth and professional development of OESH Unit team
  • Managing budget efficiency and cost effectiveness
  • Enhancing and promoting student engagement
  • Planning student Performance Honours and Awards
  • Responding to Regional and International Market Trends
  • Responding to Government Public Policy Initiatives
  • Building relationships and networks with External Stakeholders and Alumni
  • Managing communications and marketing for the OESH program
  • Realizing alignment of OESH program objectives with UWI Strategic Goals
