Maintains database or data systems by compiling and sorting data/information; resolving discrepancies; inputting alphabetic and numeric information on keyboard or optical scanner; reviewing, correcting, deleting or re-entering data.
 

KEY OUTPUTS

  • Data entered in System database daily.
  • Maintains information system databases
  • Requested tables/reports produced in a timely manner.
  • Database back-ups completed daily.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS INCLUDES:

  • Operates alphabetic, numeric and special character data entry computers in order to record or verify data with a high level of speed and accuracy.
  • Maintains accurate computer and paper records required by the unit of assignment.
  • Prepare source data for computer entry.
  • Produces monthly, quarterly or annually information.
  • Files data collection forms after the information is transcribed and placed in the electronic database.
  • Purges old data collection forms for disposal.
  • Creates data entry screen for simple databases using standard applications.
  • Secures information by completing database back-ups.
  • Maintains data entry operations by following policies and procedures.
  • Reports needed changes.
  • Performed other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four GCE “O” level / CXC Grade 2, General Proficiency including English Language and Typewriting.
  • One year experience as a Data Entry Operator.
