Deputy Director (Research)
Job SummaryThe Deputy Director (Research) will be required to lead and coordinate the research programmes of the Institute.
Working with the Principal Research Officers, the successful candidate will be required to oversee the research projects ensuring that the IMA obtains results of the highest scientific credibility using the most cost-effective and appropriate research methods and that the results of the research contribute to the formulation of specialist advice to policy makers and other stakeholders.
The successful candidate must have:
- A Ph.D. degree in Marine Science or closely related discipline.
- A significant number of publications in internationally recognized journals.
- A combination of management expertise, technical competence, research background and strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
