Job Summary

To ensure compliance with the provisions of the Pharmacy Act and assist the registrar in planning, organizing, directing and implementing the affairs of the Pharmacy Council of Jamaica.

Job Description

The Key Outputs:        

  • Management and supervision of the technical inspectorate of the Council
  • Presentation of supportive documentation for the establishment and relocation of Pharmacies across the island
  • Direction of staff in conducting inspections
  • Arrangements for collaborative (Good Manufacturing Practice GMP and Good Distribution

Practice GDP) inspections with the Chief Drug Inspector at the Ministry of Health

  • Accurate documentation for RM Courts or court proceedings
  • Audit Reports of prescriptions and invoices at Retail and Distribution Pharmacies

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree
  • Post Graduate Degree in General Management/or equivalent
  • Specialized Training in the Pharmacy Laws
  • Over 10 years experience as a Pharmacist
  • Prior experience as a Manager

 

SKILLS AND SPECIALIZED TECHNIQUES:

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and to work on own initiative
  • Ability to display good leadership qualities and to set and maintain professional standards

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Required to travel island wide
  • May be required to work beyond normal working hours
  • Stressful working conditions
