Responsible for providing equipment installation, operating and maintaining (PM/CM) of various electronic equipment to include communications (VHF, UHF and UQC), GPS, laptop computers and various in-air tracking devices on the AUTEC Project.
Perform in depth troubleshooting techniques of electronic equipment to component level and completes repairs.
Utilize antenna testers, WATT Meters, VOMs, pulse generators, Communications Test Sets, dynamic signal analyzers and other various test equipment
Install and checkout electronic tracking devices aboard U.S. Navy warships and helicopters
Perform other duties as assigned.
AS/AA in electronics or military equivalent.
Minimum five years related experience working in electronics technology environment with extensive training in a specialty field.
Digital and analog troubleshooting skills required
DOS Computer knowledge required
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Electronic equipment operation and installation in a Marine environment required
Military/Civilian Basic and Advanced Electronics Training required
Lift/Carry/Push/Pull up to 50 pounds of material/equipment
Climb long flights of stairs and ladders at sea
Pass a yearly physical as required
Must be able to interface with all levels of personnel in multi-cultural team-oriented environment
Analytically proficient in both mechanical and electronic arenas
Attention to detail a must
Excellent oral and written communication skills
This position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain a US Government security clearance; US Citizenship is required
Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
A valid US Passport and Driver’s License is required.
