Responsible for managing the Facilities Engineering (FE) Department, AUTEC project on ANDROS Island, Bahamas.

Responsible for all phases of real property projects from budgeting, scheduling, designing, development of procurement specifications, vendor selection to project closeout on the AUTEC project



  • Responsible for all PAE assigned construction/maintenance repair projects and executes in accordance with prevailing NUWC guidance Facility Engineering OCD-(20.4)-23-01 Dated: 15 August 2016.
  • Primary point of contact for interface with customer (NUWC) Engineering staff.
  • Responsible for all resources, tools, equipment, property and other assets assigned to the department.
  • Responsible for the safe working environment of all employees within the department.
  • Hires, transfers and disciplines subordinates as required within the scope of the personnel authorization and staffing plan promulgated by PAE and by PAE directive.
  • Identifies and coordinates a training plan to meet the requirements of the Facilities Engineering Department in coordination with the PAE/AUTEC training department.
  • Develops and manages budgets for the department IAW PAE and government directives.
  • Insures the Facilities Engineering Department is meeting all goals of the contract with regards to Safety, Quality and Quantity of the work performed on engineering projects.
  • Develop and prepare reports including department Measures of Merit and contract required deliverables to PAE and NUWC management and to other government agencies as required.
  • Coordinates with purchasing to do a bidders conferences. Conducts the bidder’s conference and coordinates supporting departments as required.
  • Coordinates project specific job support as required – dig and burn permits, shop support, FE/Surveying, security.
  • Review and evaluate vendor submittals including materials, safety plans, and project schedules. Order additional government materials as appropriate.
  • Review and certify vendor invoices to confirm that work has been completed.
  • Ensure all vendor invoices are within the purchase order/subcontract.
  • Conduct and document site and project inspections.
  • Attends all required training classes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • 10 years of general construction experience with at least 4 years of experience working on US Government and/or Department of Defense Engineering and construction activities preferred.
  • Obtain certification for USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors (CQM-C) within 6 months of hire.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management system such as MAXIMO preferred.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders, enter confined spaces and utility chases.
  • This position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain a US Government security clearance; US Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
  • A valid US Passport and Driver’s License is required.
