The incumbent provides comprehensive legal advice on Authority operations, manages the litigation portfolio, drafts contracts, and ensures compliance with the Regional Health Authorities Act and related legislation.

 

JOB OVERVIEW

The incumbent will be required to provide Legal Services, manage the provision of Administrative Services, exercise care and diligence in the performance of all assigned responsibilities with the on-going observance of the Board's standards, policies and procedures.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Provides Legal advice and opinions on all aspects of the Authority's operations;
  • Provides guidance and support to other Departmental Managers in the execution of their functions/duties;
  • Prepares and/or reviews Contracts/Conveyances;
  • Manages the Authority's litigation portfolio and liaise with external Attorneys in this regard;
  • Provides advice on statutory requirements of the Authority as per the Regional Health Authorities Act (1994) and other related legislation.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Possession of a LLB and LEC.
  • At least eight (8) years' experience in similar or related job function.
  • Experience in Contract Law, Industrial Relations Law and Conveyance Law.
  • Qualified Attorney at Law, authorized to practice in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
