As Head Chef of our brand new restaurant you will be expected to create an International menu with Caribbean twists using the best ingredients available. You will also be in charge of the day to day operations of a busy kitchen plus staff management.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:            

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues
  • Ensuring consistency in the preparation of all food items
  • Create exciting and appealing International/Caribbean Cuisine menu
  • Keep the menu” fresh” and “interesting “with weekly specials
  • Provide the General Manger with costings for menu items
  • Form good working relationships with local purveyors to procure best ingredients for the menu items and perform monthly stock stocks or when otherwise requested
  • Ensure all kitchen Colleagues are aware of standards and expectations
  • Assisting with training and developing junior chefs 
  • Continually strive to improve food preparation and presentations
  • Maintaining proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage
  • Making sure your “brigade” has current knowledge of all menu items, daily specials and promotions
  • Communicating daily with colleagues regarding guest feedback
  • Maintaining superior hygiene, health and safety standards, including ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
  • Following kitchen policies, procedures and service standards including all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Diploma or Certificate from a recognized culinary school essential
  • 5 years culinary experience working as a Head Chef
  • Excellent customer service, team, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organization, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Must be accountable, reliable, creative and flexible 
  • Able to work efficiently in a demanding, fast paced, multi-cultural environment and cohesively as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window and Excel applications essential
  • Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to): 
  • Work in various conditions and environments (indoors and outdoors)
  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50lbs
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Weekend and Holiday work – anti-social hours
