HSBC Bank Bermuda Limited is seeking a highly skilled professional to join the HSBC Operations, Services and Technology (HOST) team as Head of Card Operations.
Card Operations is a critical part of Global Operations and is a key stakeholder to the Lines of Business in supporting growth, driving global consistency, improving customer service and reducing operational risk.

Major responsibilities

  • Ensuring the delivery of Country Card Operation business plan.
  • Executing global and regional initiatives.
  • Implementing a global best practice Card Operating Model.
  • Managing in a dynamic, challenging and economic and regulatory environment.
  • Leading and motivating the Cards Operation Team in a challenging and productivity based environment with critical deadlines.
  • Maintaining HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points and addressing any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Ensuring adherence to the Bank’s policies, procedures and working closely with Compliance and Risk Stewards to mitigate risk.
  • Continuously re-assessing the operational risk inherent in the business, taking into account dynamic economic and market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures, management restructures and the impact of new technology.

Minimum qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience within a financial services banking operations environment or related business/function including leading and managing a team either directly or indirectly.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to engage and develop strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail, combined with a strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results.
  • Strong understanding of financial services card business.
  • Strong experience in driving change initiatives along with operational control and risk management capabilities. Ability to maintain composure and drive outcomes
