Job Summary

The incumbent will supervise and manage the hospitality functions of Caribbean Regional Drug Law Enforcement Training Centre to ensure that the resources are used in an efficient manner with a high degree of service delivery and customer satisfaction

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Plans daily menus for clients to include international dishes;
  • Ensures the adequacy of meal preparation supplies and the effective delivery of service to clients;
  • Ensures the adequacy of housekeeping supplies and the effective delivery of service to clients;
  • Adheres to the established Government of Jamaica’s Procurement Procedures for the provision of goods and services;
  • Endures that proper inventory is maintained to facilitate accountability and stock control;
  • Ensures that accommodation meets the standards of the hospitality industry;
  • Participates in event planning exercises related to the operations of REDTRAC;
  • Ensures that control systems and accountability measures are in place;
  • Prepares budgets for the Hospitality Section as/when required;
  • Conducts Performance Appraisals as required.

 

Required knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Working knowledge of catering and hospitality within an institutional setting
  • Working knowledge of housekeeping practices and procedures within an institutional setting
  • Knowledge of Supplies Management – procurement, inventory, stocktaking
  • Knowledge of Budget Preparation
  • Knowledge of GOJ Procurement Procedures
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Excellent catering skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent time management skills

 

Minimum Required Qualification and Experience

  • First Degree in Hospitality Management or Diploma in related discipline;
  • At least three (3) years job-related experience;
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in management/supervision in the field;
  • Specialized training in Institutional Catering and Hospitality Management, Supervisory Management, Customer Service and Baking Technology

 

Special Conditions Associated with the Job

  • Required to work on some weekends/public holidays;
  • Required to engage in direct purchasing of goods for the Centre;
  • Required to handle fairly large sums of cash from time to time;
  • Designated workplace is some distance from the main road.

 

Salary $1,200,000 per annum and any allowance(s) attached to the post.
