The Industrial Relations Specialist will be responsible for maintaining a harmonious Industrial Relations climate

Job Description

The incumbent would be responsible for maintaining a harmonious Industrial Relations climate through the adherence to agreed rules, regulations and procedures, providing support to Managers/Supervisors in resolving human resource matters/issues and monitoring the operations of the organisation with a view to initiating appropriate changes in Industrial Relations policies and practices. The incumbent would also be responsible for building institutional competencies in effectively managing first line Industrial Relations interventions.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Science with an emphasis in Industrial Relations and/or Human Resource Management
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Management with a concentration in Industrial/Employee Relations would be an asset
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years practical experience in Industrial Relations
  • Experience in negotiations, especially in Public Service negotiations
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

 

All external certification must have Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago (ACTT) Certification
