Job Summary

This position reports to the Head of Asset Management and is primarily responsible for managing and developing our Advisory, Brokerage and Custody client relationships in Cayman.

Job Description

The incumbent will provide technical, analytical and administrative expertise to the Asset Management team working alongside the Discretionary team. This is a position that suits an individual who has a solid background in managing or advising on equity and/or fixed income and /or multi manager fund portfolios.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • ensuring all accounts are managed in accordance with their mandates and in line with the Bank’s investment philosophies and policies 
  • managing investment portfolios in accordance with relevant policies, guidelines, asset allocation matrices, sector weightings and credit and interest rate tolerances 
  • striving to ensure excellent long term performance versus absolute return targets or benchmark performance whilst working closely with each client to ensure the appropriateness of each investment decision and overall strategy 
  • ensuring trade flow is executed in compliance with Bank procedures and policies at all times 
  • managing client relationships and providing proactive investment and financial advice to the client base where appropriate using a needs-based approach 
  • providing clients with a range of investment solutions using proprietary and third party products to achieve their objectives 
  • ensuring compliance with CSX rules and the Securities Investment Business Law (SIBL), as amended from time to time 
  • assisting support unit to ensure that all monthly statements and valuations are prepared accurately and timely and that all new securities and accounts are set up correctly
  • preparing internal and external client performance reports and valuations to the highest industry standards and within the tight reporting guidelines 
  • timely preparation of reports on proprietary funds 
  • preparing presentations for client meetings and public speaking engagements 
  • preparing investment management reports to the non-discretionary client base 
  • participating in the Group’s strategy, Fixed Income, equity and multi manager councils to ensure a thorough understanding of Bank policy and strategy 

Required qualifications and skills:

  • CIM® (chartered investment manager) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) holder or other similar level international investment qualification 
  • related university degree 
  • at least 8 to 10 years’ experience working in the Investment/Asset Management/Finance industry; detailed working knowledge of the investment services industry practices and procedures 
  • TTC (Trader Trading Course) or equivalent 
  • PFPC (Professional Financial Planning Course) 
  • proficient user of Bloomberg, Portia and advanced user of Microsoft Excel 
  • excellent organisational, oral and written communication skills 
  • strong interpersonal skills 

Salary Range: CI$70,000 to CI$85,000 per annum
