Barbados Reference Laboratory is seeking a friendly individual with great customer service skills and a clean driving record for a laboratory courier.

As a Laboratory Courier at Barbados Reference Laboratory, you will be instrumental in our laboratory's operations. Your role encompasses the prompt collection and distribution of specimens from various client locations to our laboratory, in line with fixed schedules. Additionally, you will handle the distribution of internal and external mail, supplies, and printed materials. This position requires exceptional organizational skills, a high level of professionalism, and a steadfast commitment to superior customer service, all under minimal supervision.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe and timely transport of laboratory specimens, medical records, supplies, and related materials.
  • Perform detailed preand post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Follow strict protocols for the safe handling of specimens and laboratory samples.
  • Responsibly operate company vehicles, adhering to all traffic regulations.
  • Use a specialized App for managing for specimen collection.
  • Respond to changing traffic scenarios to find the most efficient travel routes.
  • Consistently maintain a professional demeanor to foster client satisfaction.
  • Work collaboratively with the courier coordinator on route planning, receiving client feedback, and other important communications.


Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School.
  • Experience in a driver/courier role is advantageous.
  • A strong track record in customer service is essential.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record required.
  • Demonstrated punctuality and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Proficient in attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Capable of resolving customer service-related challenges effectively.
  • Physically able to fulfill job duties, including lifting and carrying materials.
