Applicant must satisfy the following essential criteria:
- PhD in Physics
- Demonstrated experience in teaching and independent research at an institution of higher learning
- Demonstrated scholarly activity (peer-reviewed publications).
The successful candidate must demonstrate good team and leadership skills. Excellent communication skills are essential, as is a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, service and technology application in the classroom. The successful candidate should be innovative, committed, hardworking and enthusiastic with excellent subject knowledge and a sound understanding of the latest student-centered teaching techniques.
The successful candidate will be required to pursue research grant funding; participate in curriculum development; be involved in interdisciplinary collaboration; develop innovative research and make a significant contribution to the department’s research output; to undertake an appropriate teaching and administrative load; and to take part in outreach activities.
The Lecturer in Physics should have considerable academic and professional experience, including teaching and research at the tertiary level. Candidates must have a good publication record in peer-reviewed international journals.
