University Libraries is seeking a full-time Librarian to lead the strategic development of library services at its UB-North Campus. We are seeking a dynamic, innovative colleague with strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills that engender excellence to librarianship, customer service, collegiality and professionalism. The Librarian will demonstrate a sound understanding of emerging technologies and trends in library and information science and their application in an academic library environment. We especially invite applications from professionals with a strong commitment to developing excellent and innovative integrated library services within the institution.
Responsibilities: Plan, budget, monitor and assess library services delivery; manage the library facilities; develop and implement policies; supervise and train library staff; engage in library related research; liaise with faculty and academic units; perform evening and weekend reference desk assignments (on rotation); develop and participate in departmental projects; serve on departmental and university-wide committees.
Qualifications: Candidates must have an earned master's degree in library science from an accredited institution; evidence of experience in an academic library; evidence of a sound understanding of emerging technologies and trends in library and information science and their application in an academic library environment; evidence of planning, budgeting, monitoring and assessing library services delivery. Management and/or leadership of a library branch or unit would be an asset.
