About us
The Benevolent Foundation Saba manages the Honorable Henry Carlyle Every Home for the Aged, a care institution for elderly, disabled or otherwise challenged people on the Island of Saba also known as ‘The Home’. The Home’s mission is to support their clients with service-centred care and services tailored to the individual needs of the client with respect, interest, enthusiasm and expertise. Preserving autonomy, identity, self-esteem and quality of life of the individual client are core concepts.

In 2016 the Home in conjunction with the Island Government of Saba developed the LIFE Activity Center, a center dedicated to increasing quality of life and independence for elderly & disabled residents of Saba through recreation, education and socialization.

Following the success of the LIFE Activity center, BFS and the Island Government of Saba are partnering again to set up an activity program specifically geared to adult citizens battling mental health issues and/or addiction issues. In line with the values of BFS, the goal of the program is to increase their quality of life and stimulate a healthy participation in society.

 

What does the job entail
As project manager you will develop, organize, coordinate and supervise activity programs to be offered to adults within the community who are battling mental health and addiction issues.

In developing and supervising execution of this program you help ensure a pleasant and safe environment in which the psychological, physical and social abilities of the participants are stimulated and advanced.

 

Who are we looking for

  • You have at least a HBO working and thinking level and relevant training in mental health care (Such as HBO-V/MWD/SPH).
  • You have several years of experience as an activities manager and/or Project manager in Healthcare and/or a public organisation.
  • You have a good understanding of the needs and challenges of mental health and addiction clients and have a demonstrated ability to develop, organize, coordinate and supervise the execution of activity programs.
  • You have a problem-solving disposition and are sensitive to culture differences.
  • A good command of English language is required.

 

What we offer
The project appointment is for a period of one year. You will work on a full time basis.

We offer a competitive benefit package governed by our collective labour agreement. You will take part in the Dutch Caribbean Pension plan, Zorgverzekeringskantoor BES health insurance plan, and you receive a relocation remuneration, if applicable.

The salary is conform the salary implementation regulation of FWG Salarisstructuur Health Care Caribisch Nederland BES and has been placed in FWG scale 50.
Monthly gross min $2584 - max $3593.
