Job Summary

This position reports to the Senior Manager, Head of Credit Risk Management and manages day-to-day CRM functions, overseeing Collections and Credit Administration.

Job Description

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing assessment and credit adjudication on consumer and corporate loans within delegated limits and preparing proposals for Cayman Credit Committee or Group Credit Committee as appropriate 
  • Developing strong working relationships with Lending Officers and providing deal structuring guidance 
  • Monitoring adherence to the bank’s credit risk policies, processes and risk management procedures
  • Formulating general collections strategies, and in conjunction with Corporate Banking, managing problem loan work-outs 
  • Overseeing CRM collections function in terms of delinquency, special accounts and debt recovery 
  • Preparing credit and loan reporting data in support of financial statement reporting, reports to the board of directors, and management reporting 
  • Acting as CRM liaison for internal and external auditors, the regulator, loan reviews, and legal firms 
  • Assisting and, when appropriate, deputising for Senior Manager in overseeing the operation of the department 
  • Providing coaching and leadership support to the CRM team and supervising and preparing performance appraisals for direct reports on the CRM team 
  • Assisting with other relevant duties as requested by the Senior Manager 

Required qualifications and skills:

  • University degree; an advanced degree (e.g. MBA), professional accounting designation and/or professional banking diploma would be an asset 
  • At least 10 years’ banking experience, including a minimum of 5 years’ relevant Credit Risk Management and/or Commercial Banking experience with a proven track record successfully adjudicating and structuring deals 
  • Specialist knowledge in risk analysis, loan and security documentation and loan evaluation for retail and commercial lending 
  • Superior communication, negotiation, organisation, presentation and interpersonal skills 
  • Strong Analytical skills 
  • Ability to operate in a busy environment, meeting tight deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications
