ABI Insurance Company Ltd seeks a Manager, Finance & Accounting to oversee finance operations, reporting, and IFRS 17 compliance.
 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or relevant field from an accredited university
  • CPA, CMA, ACCA, CA or equivalent Accounting certification held in good standing
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Finance (experience in the Insurance industry is an asset) with at least 5 years’ experience in progressively responsible positions with:
  • Proven hands-on IFRS 17 accounting experiences in both Life and General Insurance is mandatory.

Including:

  • Life Insurance Proficiency in GMM or VFA measurement models, CSM and RA computation and coverage unit determination).
  • General Insurance Experience with PAA/LRC/LIC roll-forwards, RA movements, and related disclosures.

Primary Duties:
The Manager, Finance & Accounting will be responsible for overseeing the full scope of the finance and accounting functions, with a critical focus on compliance with the new IFRS 17 standards across both business lines:

  • Managing and coordinating all reporting activities, including annual financial statements, annual audit, regulatory and statutory reporting requirements, annual business plan, budget management, cost-benefit analysis, and forecasting.
  • Leading the implementation and ongoing reporting under IFRS 17 for both Life and General Insurance businesses, ensuring compliance with the composite license requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining reporting procedures for key IFRS 17 metrics
  • Supervising the Accounts Team on a daily basis in accordance with external regulatory requirements and company guidelines with responsibility for its efficient functioning.
  • Providing expert guidance and training to the team on IFRS 17 principles and their application.
  • Effectively analysing, reducing, and managing Accounts Receivables.
  • Conducting detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, taking into account the of IFRS 17 measurement models on profitability and solvency.
  • Liaising with external auditors and regulatory bodies on complex accounting and reporting matters, particularly those related to the composite license and IFRS 17.
