Job Summary

Manager of the PC support activities which include the administration, security, maintenance, support, and lifecycle of PC systems and Printers/Multi-Function Devices (MFDs) on multiple Microsoft Windows Active Directory domains of varying sizes

Job Description


  • Provide technical and administrative leadership to between 5-6 people.
  • Provide specialized technical support for tier 3 level tickets, which requires several years of experience with System Administration, Group Policy, STIGs, HBSS policy, and general security policies that are applied to workstations.
  • Maintain DoD security compliance of PC systems and printers/MFDs.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support during range operations.
  • Manage the help desk support operations.
  • Establish and meet quarterly and yearly milestones.
  • Interface with other IT groups on IT project implementations.
  • Interface with other managers and customers to provide business solutions.
  • Manage IT equipment property tracking and disposal.
  • Manage department classified equipment tracking, including classified hard drive accountability.
  • Develop and maintain a lifecycle plan for PC and printer/MFD replacement.
  • Oversee Configuration Management of PCs, printers, and MFDs.
  • Oversee system upgrade strategies.
  • Manage department procurement budget and the ordering of equipment and parts for lifecycle, inventory, and to satisfy customer requests in a timely manner.
  • Manage client software support.
  • Provide input for enterprise-wide disaster recovery and continuity of operations planning.
  • Maintain an efficient PC imaging process.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Create/maintain technical documentation.
  • Regular communication with management regarding system status, particularly with an eye towards business impact.
  • These duties apply to both an unclassified business environment, a retail services environment, and a classified operations environment requiring, at times, 24 hour support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.




  • Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • At least ten years of experience in support of PC systems. 
  • Management experience is preferred. 
  • Must meet IA certification requirements, which may require A+ CE, Network+ CE, or Security+ CE, CISSP, Microsoft Windows 10 certification or Microsoft Server Administration.
  • Leadership skills to guide and mentor staff.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Project Management experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in the area of PC and client software troubleshooting for Microsoft Windows
  • Helpdesk ticketing software, ideally Numara Track-It.
  • ·PC imaging solutions.
  • Providing clear direction and establishing efficient processes for the PC Systems Team is critical. 
  • Extensive experience in enterprise-level support of Windows PCs. 
  • PC security patching solutions.
  • Providing clear direction and establishing efficient processes for the PC Systems Team is critical. 
  • PC management software.
  • Dell desktops and laptops.
  • Ability to lead and to work as part of a team.
  • While not required, familiarity with DoD Information Assurance compliance requirements is considered desirable.
  • Must be able to travel to a somewhat remote island with limited medical facilities.
  • This position requires the individual to be eligible to obtain a US Government security clearance; US Citizenship is required.
  • A valid US Passport and Driver’s License is required.
