Job SummaryApplications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the post of Phlebotomist at the Roy Schneider Hospital.
The phlebotomist performs venipuncture and skin punctures competently and expediently, has knowledge of test requirements and assists in the clinical laboratory as needed. This person assumes responsibility and accountability for the duties of the position and is cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives, and policies of the Schneider Regional Medical Center and the Laboratory Department.
Hazards & Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements include standing, walking, bending sitting, lifting, repetitive motions, stooping, pushing and pulling. Hazards include exposure to blood and body fluids, toxic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles and an increased risk for needle sticks.
Education and Experience:
Any combination of a High School diploma or equivalent certification with courses in phlebotomy and medical terminology; or equivalent of relevant education and 1-3 years applicable experience.
Certification preferred with basic computer skills
