This is an exciting opportunity to represent the all-new Westin Grand Cayman Resort to the incentive and meetings market in the U.S.

Following a $50M complete renovation, and located on the most admired island in the Western Caribbean, our Resort is a true pleasure to sell.  An experienced resort seller with an aggressive approach to booking business and a track record of success will help us reach our lofty goals.  Location preference:  Southeastern U.S. but flexible for the best candidate.



  • Generate high quality leads through travel and trade show events, sales trips, prospecting calls, client entertainment and other methods of promoting the hotel to increase awareness of our exciting renovation and superb destination.
  • Respond to leads with timely, creative and customized proposals based on diligent efforts to understand the client’s’ needs and objectives.
  • Collaborate with Marriott sales resources to maximize awareness of the resort and increase closing rates.
  • Partner with Destination Sales Executive on-island to executive highly-effective site inspections and win the business.
  • Maximize revenue by understanding seasonal demand, resort profit centers and contractual implications in order to negotiate effectively on behalf of the property.
  • Handle all account details that pertain to all aspects of solicitation and closing to ensure all are complete and documented.
  • Coordinate with Convention Services and other departments to ensure a team effort to deliver world-class service to the client.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures relating to administration of accounts and booking procedures.
  • Sales Strategy Planning and Sales Performance Reporting.
  • Must meet or exceed annual goals/targets of position.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

The successful candidate must be able to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business and meet client needs. This position requires travel for client visits, solicitation and training. This person must be a team player who loves to apply creativity to the sales process. The ability to listen, speak and write in English to ascertain information and respond to clients is a must. Independent, high energy, entrepreneurial Sales professionals will excel.  Due to the remote based position, individual must be self-motivated and disciplined in all aspects and able to be self-sufficient in all administrative tasks.

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills or ability.

  • Knowledge of hotel structure and how all departments interact
  • Basic math and calculator skills to prepare cost proposals
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business, meet client needs and resolve complaints
  • Ability to listen, speak and write English to ascertain and respond to client needs
  • Considerable skill in the use of a computer in a Windows-based environment is necessary
  • Working knowledge of software including Microsoft Windows 2000, Excel, ISAC, and Opera
  • Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger
  • Understand principles relating to the product you are selling
  • Organize your own activities to make the best of your time and effort
  • Maintain enthusiasm and interest all functions with buyers and sellers
  • Keep accurate records of contracts, sales and purchases
  • Knowledge of incentive markets, third party meeting planners and Caribbean experience highly recommended

Qualification Standards:

  • Four-year college degree preferred
  • 5-10 years of hospitality industry and supervisory experience is preferred however, any combination of education and training within hotel sales may be considered
