Job Summary

Fairmont Southampton is seeking a service-oriented professional with exceptional organization skills to join our Sales & Marketing team on a temporary basis for six months. Must be home-based in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut.

Job Description

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing in Bermuda.  Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Collaborate with the Director of Travel Industry Sales and the Regional Director of Sales & Marketing to establish the strategic direction; to include enhancing current client relationships, expanding client base, effectively tracking client data
  • Exceeding all monthly and quarterly goals in all categories including site inspections, personal sales calls, entertainment and prospecting; includes identifying and executing key action steps to achieve goals
  • Effectively use all means of communication and systems to pursue leads in a timely and professional manner
  • Implementing tactics to surpass principal competitors 
  • Remain current with industry trends utilizing various resources including trade publications/memberships
  • Overseeing preparation for and participating in various events, FAM Visits, entertainment, effective communications
  • Participating in training workshops and meetings 
  • Travelling:  to include Trade Shows, industry meetings, and events; also includes preparing invitations, facilitating presentations. Travelling may include overnight and weekends
  • Efficiently manage allocated annual travel and entertainment budget 
  • Managing a coordinator on a shared basis
  • Maintain positive relations guests, clients, colleagues, vendors and other stakeholders
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned



  • A Bachelors Degree and/or Hotel Management degree preferred
  • 2 years' hotel sales experience in particular with luxury resorts required
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Must be a results-oriented, an extraordinarily motivated professional with an engaging personality who thrives in a multi-cultural, diverse, fast-paced, team environment
  • Ability to deliver effective presentations
  • Excellent customer service, team, leadership, organization, communication and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven strategic and project planning record 
  • Ability to travel and work non traditional hours and days of week
  • Computer literate including Opera, Property Manager, Outlook, MS Office required


Visa Requirements:   Non-Bermudian candidates will need to qualify for a Bermuda Department of Immigration work permit applied for by the Fairmont Southampton Hotel.
