Our New York Satellite Sales Office for Fairmont Southampton is seeking a service-oriented professional with exceptional organization skills to join our Sales & Marketing team.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Group Sales in New York, and will be home-based in the Southeast.  Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Meeting and exceeding personal sales room night booking goals
  • Exceeding monthly activity goals in all categories including site inspections, personal sales calls, entertainment and prospecting 
  • Identifying and executing key action steps quarterly to achieve booking goals
  • Developing key and developmental accounts to generate long term business partnerships
  • Actively target and solicit new business within the territory
  • Effectively use all means of communication to pursue leads in a timely and professional manner
  • Working with DOGS and DORM to meet and exceed budgeted group room rate.
  • Developing and maintaining a strategic plan, to include enhancing current client relationships, expanding client base, tracking client data, implementing tactics to surpass principal competitors 
  • Collaborating with Conference Services regarding groups generating rooms and banquet revenue
  • Remain current with industry trends utilizing various resources including trade publications/memberships
  • Participating in sales events, trade shows to include preparing for events i.e. client invitations, facilitating of event
  • Participating in various meetings to include daily sales meeting, GRC conference calls, and pre-Convention meetings
  • Participating in training workshops as required 
  • Travelling to Bermuda as required to cover the sales office, interact with other departments relevant to group Fam trips and key site inspections
  • Other travelling which may include overnight and weekends
  • Efficiently manage allocated annual travel and entertainment budget 
  • Managing a coordinator shared with other Sales Managers
  • Maintain positive relations guests, clients, colleagues, vendors and other stakeholders
  • Performs other related duties and projects as assigned



  • A Bachelors Degree and/or Hotel Management degree preferred
  • 5 years' hotel sales experience in particular luxury resorts
  • Established strong relationships within the Southeast region, preferably Georgia, Florida and the Carolinas in all key segments i.e. financial, association, corporate meeting, incentive and insurance
  • Must be a results-oriented, extraordinarily motivated professional with an engaging personality who thrives in a multi-cultural, diverse, fast-paced, team environment
  • Excellent customer service, team, leadership, organization, communication, multi-tasking and facilitating skills
  • Proven strategic and project planning record 
  • Computer literacy including Opera Sales & Catering, Sales Net, Property Manager and Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Ability to travel and work non traditional hours and days of week


Visa Requirements:   Non-Bermudian candidates will need to qualify for a Bermuda Department of Immigration work permit applied for by the Fairmont Southampton Hotel.
