Guardsman (Barbados) Limited is looking for a competent Security Services Manager to organize and oversee all security operations of our company who operates on a 24 /7/366 days basis.

You will have overall responsibility for the Central Monitoring Station and the Guarding Force.  As Security Manager, you will have security personnel under your command while you develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards.  You will have to demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills.  You will need a strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety and that the security function fully meets this requirement of all Clients, internal guests and stakeholders.

The goal is to create and preserve an environment where employees, visitors and property are safe and well-protected.

 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsibilities include risk management assessments, as well as ensuring Compliance with local guidelines regarding emergency and security.
  • The Security Services Manager also will serve as liaison with local law enforcement to assist investigations of accidents, thefts, and property loss.
  • The Security Services Manager will assist in the hiring, training, and coordination of work schedules of all security personnel to ensure a secure environment at all locations and all times. 
  • Establish security objectives, goals, processes, and plans in support of divisional and corporate strategic directions.
  • Sound judgment is required as decisions made are often major and affect relationships with customers, vendors, suppliers, and employees.
  • Possess a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of asset and information protection principles necessary to plan and implement security programs and solutions in support of the business.
  • Ability to deliver strong management presentation and negotiation skills as well as proven experience in organizing and directing staff/team work and coordinating such activities to a successful conclusion.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to review, evaluate, recommend changes and/or develop and implement new programs as requirements and customer needs change.
  • Possess the skill and ability to conduct and/or support sensitive investigations involving company personnel, assets, and/or proprietary information.
  • Follow through on laudatory and disciplinary action of team members.
  • Conduct employee performance evaluations, identify performance gaps and address accordingly.
  • Ensure proper customer service is maintained and initiate improvements where necessary based on feedback from clients
  • Motivate, train and develop staff to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills/tools and knowledge to effectively and efficiently perform their functions via consistent training and refresher training for all staff.

 

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in security management, criminal justice or a related field.
  • 5+ years of management experience in the security, criminal justice and compliance industry.
  • Relevant professional certifications in security management or related areas, like Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Certified Security Manager (CSM) would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in security assessments, audits and investigations at a large scale.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations and industry standards pertaining to security and safety.
