Provide overall support to sales teams and customers during pre-sales process, identifying and anticipating customer needs, providing technical support and solutions architecture capabilities


  • Be the Design Authority for technical solutions for BTC Business
  • Support the sales team through the sales process as subject matter experts
  • Maintain key vendor and partner relationships for support in key solutions


Main Responsibilities/Activities

Design Authority

  • Design solutions both proactively and in response to customer requests for solutions provided by BTC Business
  • Maintain technical expertise in the solutions offered by BTC Business and technical awareness of the ICT environment in general.
  • Review solution options for technical and commercial fit for the customer requirements in their specific environment
  • Maintain updated vendor certifications, where appropriate and prioritized
  • Contribute to positioning BTC as a market leader in providing Data & Voice Solutions, Cloud Computing, IT outsourcing and managed services


Team and Customer Support

  • Support BTC Sales team in positioning and selling traditional and managed IT outsourcing solutions portfolio.
  • Assist in the development of the pricing for the equipment and services components and underwrite the final services price build up.
  • Engage with clients to develop an understanding of their business needs and translate these into viable technical solutions, leveraging appropriate value propositions
  • Produce a detailed short, medium and long-term technology strategy for key Enterprise Clients and Prospects that fall directly in line with their business objectives and projected growth plans
  • Pre Sales consulting at a strategic business level within Clients’ organizations, identifying areas where technical solutions can be applied to open new communication channels, increase market share, provide quick wins, invoke competitive advantage and reduce operational cost
  • Produce appropriate documentation and market information as a part of the consulting process, and provide ROI modeling to support client’s business cases for capital expenditure and solution adoption
  • Deliver familiarization training for customers and for sales and other teams for required solutions
  • Support marketing, sales and support by assisting in the development and maintenance of various technical marketing collateral including application notes, FAQs, product notes, user guides, field training presentations, online marketing content and demos.
  • Support major bids with product expertise and product variants as needed


Maintain Key Relationships

  • Manage the process of requests for discounted pricing internal suppliers or external vendors
  • Coordinate requests for support from C&W regional team, vendors, and partners for non-standard opportunities
  • Maintain key customer relationships by providing value through presentations, training and knowledge sharing


Other Functions

  • Guarantee that the proposals presented to large deals and key accounts maintain a consistent quality level that can serve as a competitive advantage.
  • Assist in the overall coordination of RFP responses
  • Collaborate with the sales managers to develop account plans and account strategies aimed to grow business, especially in key accounts and large clients.
  • Inspire market confidence by demonstrating strategic industry knowledge and acting with the highest professional standards and working towards continuous success
Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelors level degree in Technology or appropriate industry certifications
  • An MBA would be a plus but not necessary


Technical Skills

  • Proficient knowledge in Voice, Data and IT solutions for Business & Government customers
  • Knowledgeable of trends in the telecommunications industry
  • Must be computer literate – with proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and Powerpoint



  • At least 3 years of sales engineering or technical design experience
  • A track record of successfully selling and positioning IT and Managed Solutions
  • Expert knowledge in the ICT and Telecoms industry and trends
