Senior Database Administrator

Core Functions

• Design, implement and optimize enterprise database and data warehouse solutions and models, guided by industry best practices, to ensure, secure, optimal and efficient data capture, analysis, reporting and application performance for use throughout the Bank.
• Work with business leaders and teams to collect and translate information requirements into data to develop data-centric solutions. Streamline data flows and models; improve consistency, quality, accessibility, and security; unify data architecture; remove unnecessary costs; and, optimize database activity within the Bank.
• Employ strong data analytics and research necessary to analyse the Bank’s heterogeneous database and data warehouse environment to determine possible limitations in reliability or usability.
• Contribute to the shared services function and overall management of the Information Technology Department, including workflow management and bench-strength development to promote strategic goals and activities.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Management or related field.
• Six (6) years experience in leading complex relational database and data warehouse projects, including but not limited to, database design, implementation, management and support in a 24/7 production environment.
• Strong math and data analysis skills are essential.
• Able to compile and organize statistical information and present findings and recommendations to management.
• Microsoft SQL and/or Oracle database certification a plus.
• Experience with Oracle technologies such as PeopleSoft and Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) preferred.
• Experience with statistical and data reporting languages and solutions, such as IBM Cognos and Tableau are a plus
• Strong interpersonal, and diplomacy skills. Experience in leading and mentoring team members.
• Excellent written communication skills, which demonstrate the ability to draft clear, concise specifications, documentation and reports as a team.
• Able to multi-task and   work independently on complex technical projects as well as on a team of technical professionals and relevant decision- makers
