Job Description

The successful candidate must possess a: 

  • DVM or equivalent
  • M.Sc./Ph.D. in Veterinary Anaesthesia 


  • Considerable experience in Clinical Anaesthesia and teaching in a University setting
  • Acceptable research and other creative output

Board certification in Anaesthesiology (American College of Veterinary Anaesthesiologists or European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia) would be an asset       


Special Responsibilities 

  • Teaching principles of Anaesthesia and Pain Management
  • Performing anaesthesia on companion, farm and exotic animals
  • Contributing significantly to the development of interdisciplinary Clinical Courses for the DVM programme and facilitating interdisciplinary research among related disciplines
  • Co-ordinating and overseeing the wide range of Veterinary Surgery and directing post-graduate students in this area
  • Carrying out independent and group research

  • Able to guide undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Willing to participate in Problem-Based Learning (PBL)
