The Senior Supervisor, New Accounts, along with support team, ensures the provision of excellent service to new and prospective customers.

The incumbent will be responsible for the supervision of the New Accounts team, ensuring personal and team’s compliance with all regulatory and internal policies, and that risks are identified and mitigated.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • handling customer service interviews and applications for new accounts
  • assisting with applications, and correspondence relating to new business accounts, referring as necessary
  • cross-selling products and services, and ensures, with guidance, that team-members cross-sell on a consistent basis, with the aim of achieving or exceeding set targets
  • ensuring account information is properly recorded in SOA and FCUBS, and that links are performed correctly
  • overseeing the process for renting and managing Safety Deposit Boxes (SBD)
  • controlling and managing, with support staffs’ assistance, all debit and credit card collections
  • responsible for the timely and accurate processing of amendments to accounts
  • ensuring personal conduct is professional, diplomatic and representative of the organisation’s standards
  • ensuring that physical disposition is inviting, friendly, and approachable
  • motivating, encouraging, inspiring support staff on an ongoing basis, and ensuring that each member of the team plays a role in keeping morale at high levels
  • authorising transactions for CSRs and other clerks, including, but not limited to the signing of wire transfer requests, FDs requests, cash withdrawals, and cheque encashment
  • assisting staff with answering questions in connection with complex transactions and requests
  • providing accurate and verified monthly statistics for the Department
  • holding regular coaching/mentoring sessions with direct reports followed with appropriate documentation and escalated measures, when necessary
  • responsible for completing performance appraisals for direct reports by assigned deadlines


Required qualifications and skills:

  • at least five years banking experience with a minimum of three years in Senior Customer Service Representative position
  • must have been sufficiently exposed to the various departments within the Retail unit in order to intelligently and independently discuss the various products and services with clients of all calibers
  • must be highly motivated, enthusiastic, sales and marketing oriented in order to meet targets
  • must be proactive in owning and resolving problems
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills, very customer-service focused
  • proficient  in  Microsoft  Word,  Excel  and PowerPoint
  • very organised and works well independently, with the ability to prioritise and efficiently handle high volumes of work
  • must be flexible and able to multi-task in a relatively calm and professional manner
  • excellent leadership skills; ability to effectively supervise/coach a team of five or more individuals, and assist the department to meet the overall strategies of the organisation
  • professional qualification or certification in banking or related field would be an asset, e.g. FSD, AIB, AICB
