The incumbent inspects and certifies agricultural commodities, monitors packing facilities and transport, enforces import-export regulations, and conducts pest surveillance to protect agricultural health.

The incumbent conducts offsite fumigations under USDA standards, manages facility operations, and ensures pest-free agricultural imports and exports.

The Principal Director leads agricultural economic planning and policy development, manages branch operations and staff, provides strategic technical advice, and represents the ministry in national and international negotiations.

Under the supervision of the Technical Coordinator, the Secretary is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative services to ensure the effective and efficient operations of the Directorate.
