The incumbent is responsible for mobilizing communities, working with existing groups, initiating group formation, planning, implementing and evaluating health education programmes in an assigned geographical area.

 

 

 

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Promotion and Education, Education or Social Behavioural Sciences from an accredited institution. 
  • At least two (2) years’ experience in any of the fields mentioned above. 

 

Specific Knowledge Required

  • Proficiency in relevant Software Applications 
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Proactive work attitude and the ability to work on own initiative. 
  • Knowledge and experience in programme management. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administer the Health Promotion and Health Education programmes of the Parish Health Department. 
  • Assess Health needs of the communities, groups, families, and develop programmes, and interventions to address these needs. 
  • Conduct surveys to determine health education needs and identify factors which impact health behaviour. 
  • Develop Health Education/ Health Promotion programmes in collaboration with members of the health team, community leaders, government and non – government organizations.
  • Promote programmes of the Ministry of Health & Wellness and the North-East Regional Health Authority.
