Project Managing Engineer

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• B.Sc. Civil Engineering
• 5 – 7 years experience in the administration of projects
• Advanced training in project management/engineering
• Post-graduate degree in a specialized engineering field will be an asset

• Highly developed civil engineering skills with strong knowledge of project planning and implementation

• Strong technical report writing skills
• Excellent team player

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

• Reports to: Director, Major Projects

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS

• Plan and implement projects to achieve stated objectives effectively and efficiently
• Conduct procurement of contractors in accordance with Public Sector Procurement Procedures
• Direct and manage the execution of assigned major projects in compliance with approved standards, budgets, and timelines
• Develop and maintain reliable project information systems
• Provide technical advice to senior management
• Prepare and submit executive, performance, and technical reports
• Liaise with internal work teams and external stakeholders including utilities companies, government agencies, NGOs, and international funding agencies
• Monitor and coordinate strategic financial planning for new and ongoing projects
• Conduct economic appraisals of projects, roads, bridges, and related infrastructure
• Prepare performance appraisals and recommend training and development for direct reports
• Represent the Agency at meetings, conferences, and other official functions as required
