Job Description

The Facility Manager will be required to plan, coordinate and supervise the operations of the District Health Facility. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the achievement of the overall delivery of quality health care services in keeping with the Facilitys strategic objectives.

The Authority reserves the right to assign the officer to any Facility under its management.

 

Key and Critical Responsibilities

  • Prepares and administers the annual budget for the effective operation of the facility.
  • Manages the facilitys financial resources and provides recommendations for optimum cost efficiency.
  • Formulates implements and maintains a program for cost control and ensures cost effective delivery of services.
  • Prepares annual operational plans and ensures efficient utilization of hospital plant, equipment and supplies.
  • Develops and implements preventative maintenance programs for the Facilitys plant, machinery and equipment.
  • Confers with departmental supervisors and members of the professional staff concerning their needs and requirements and takes appropriate action to provide the facilities and services as required.
  • Effects processes and procedures for the continuous improvement of the services provided by the Health Care Facility.
  • Establishes and maintains effective control of the facility by efficient administration and operation of the facility.
  • Integrates and coordinates the activities of staff involved in the various facets of the operations at the facility to harmonize the delivery of quality health care services.
  • Assists in the formulation and development of effective Human Resources Management policies.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to perform duties according to assigned rosters or plans that can be formulated in times of authorized service exigencies.
  • Ability to use the relevant computer applications related to job functions.

 

Key Competencies

  • First degree in Management or related discipline.
  • At least eight (8) years experience in a similar or related job function, five (5) of which must be at a Managerial/Supervisory level.
