The National Works Agency, an Executive Agency of the Government of Jamaica is seeking suitably qualified individuals for the position of Field Officer.

 

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four (4) CSEC/GCE or equivalent, including English and Mathematics; science and/or building subjects
  • At least two (2) years working experience in a road construction or traffic management environment

 

SKILL REQUIREMENTS/KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Competence in operating road marking equipment
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Interpersonal and team skills
  • Ability to work on weekends and outside regular hours as required

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

  • Reports to: Traffic Supervisor

 

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS

  • Install and maintain traffic control devices
  • Carry out inventory and collect relevant data as directed
  • Operate small technical equipment and machinery as required
  • Perform assigned tasks such as road marking, inspections, or installation of traffic management equipment
  • Report problems with equipment or in work environment
  • Apply creativity, innovation, and problem-solving in assigned tasks
