The General Manager, Quality develops, implements, and evaluates strategic Quality Improvement Programs and Risk Assessments to lead the NWRHA's accreditation process and instill a culture of quality and safety.

 

JOB PURPOSE

The General Manager, Quality is required to operate at the strategic level in the development, implementation and evaluation of Quality Improvement Programmes and Plans and Risk Assessment in the NWRHA geared towards the facilitation of the Accreditation process. The incumbent is expected to lead the Quality Department such that all employees within the Region are inherently aware of and acts in accordance with internationally approved quality/accreditation standards, protocols, procedures and guidelines.

 

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and implements strategic quality /accreditation plans and policies congruent with the NWRHA's strategic plan for improving service quality and occupational safety throughout the Regional Health Authority.
  • Leads the development and implementation of a total quality and safety culture in all areas of the Authority's operations.
  • Leads the development of QI targets and indicators for approval of the Board and inclusion in the RHA's Business Plan utilizing the outputs of audits, surveys, reviews and client-feedback.
  • Collaborates with clinical and non-clinical Executive Managers/Heads of Departments to ensure that existing systems, procedures and processes meet Accreditation and Quality standards.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Master's Degree in Health Management Administration or Quality Management from an accredited institution.
  • At least ten (10) years post qualification experience in similar or related job function, five (5) of which must be as an executive or senior professional of a large and complex organization within the health sector.
  • Possession of the Quality/Organizational Excellence Certificate by ASQ or any equally recognized association would be an asset.

Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience.
