Manager, Corporate Communications

JOB PURPOSE

The incumbent will be responsible for the Authority's internal and external communications function under the directions of the Chief Executive Officer. The person will be required to perform at a strategic level developing ideas and campaigns that support the Authority's objectives. The person will also be required to lead the Authority's media relations, social media and public websites.

KEY FUNCTIONS

• Plans, develops, recommends and implements the Company's Corporate Communications, Marketing and Business Development functions so as to ensure the achievement of established goals and objectives;
• Directs and controls the planning and implementation of established corporate promotions, events and programmes to ensure the achievement of approved work targets;
• Manages content creation across our external communications, leading on media relations, social media and our public websites;

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications/Communications Studies/Journalism/Public Relations/Business Administration with specialization in Communication and/or Marketing from an accredited institution;
• At least five (5) years post qualification experience in a similar or related job, two (2) of which should have been at middle or senior management level;
• In-depth knowledge of best writing and messaging practices for business correspondence, public relations, advertising, marketing and social media.

Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of qualifications, training and experience.
