Amentum is seeking a Power Plant Operator to support the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) Mission on Andros Island, Bahamas.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts, which register various aspects of system’s operation, adjusting controls to ensure safe and efficient operation of the system and to meet the service demands.
  • Maintains logs in which various aspects of the operations are recorded.
  • Collect data, maintain records, and prepare and submit monthly fuel/utilities reports as required by the contract.
  • Cleans, oils, and assists in the repair of power plant equipment.
  • Keeps engines, machinery and equipment of the system in good working order.
  • Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Inspect instruments periodically and make minor calibration adjustments to ensure equipment is functioning within specified standards.
  • Perform daily water plant and fuel storage inspections.
  • Follow strict safety guidelines.
  • Performs duties as a security escort for supporting vendors or service technicians as required.
  • Performs additional duties of position as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years related experience working in power plant environment.
  • Must be able to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Must be meticulous for data collecting and maintaining records.
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of personnel in a multicultural team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to reside in remote work location with limited medical facilities.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport will be required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years related experience working in power plant environment preferred.
